New Saints for All Saints Day It's not too early to start planning for All Saints Day which will be celebrated on November 1st. It is timely to speak of this as this weekend Pope Francis will canonize some new Saints. Among the more well-known will be Bishop Oscar Romero and Pope Paul VI. Of course, Popes have canonized Saints from all around the world so there is no limit to Saints that one can choose as one's patron. Celebrating the Feast Day of St. Francis-Care for Creation October 4th is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. As one of our most popular saints, his feast strikes a chord with all of us in his love and high respect of all of life. Whether by an action or education, find ways to be more intentional about the state of our earth and help your learners become good stewards. Pope Francis wrote an encyclical called Laudato Si (Care for our Common Home). This teaching is guiding the church in ways to approach climate change that is affecting our planet. Check out some of these resources to assist with lesson planning.

Celebrating our Catechists on Catechetical Sunday 2018 Firstly, catechesis is not a “job” or a task that is external to the person who is a catechist; because one “is” a catechist and all of life revolves around this mission. In fact, “being” a catechist is a vocation of service to the Church; what was received as a gift from the Lord should be transmitted in one’s turn.
