Reaching Out to Parents As a catechist, you see the parents as they bring their learners for Faith Formation. As important as it is to be focused on our learners, the ability to support the family also has a very important place in Faith Formation. Children who are supported by their parents in faith will be more capable in understanding what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. If they experience faith at home, they will see the faith lived out. As their child's catechist you have an opportunity to develop a relationship with the parents by welcoming their interest in their children. This post by Jared Dees from his book, To Heal, Proclaim, and Teach offers some ideas on ways to approach this relationship.
