Planning for Advent Looking for a new idea for Advent? Families are involved in so many activities in anticipation of Christmas. Let us help our young learners understand the reason that we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Now is the time to really focus on the Advent season. Prepare lesson plans that teach about the themes of this season--darkness and light, promises of the prophets, Mary's call to birth the savior, staying steadfast as disciples, meeting John the Baptist. See the links below for lesson ideas. This week: an overview of teaching about Advent, a lesson & craft about darkness and light, and some ideas of how to simplify decorating for liturgical year environments. More links will follow in the upcoming weeks.
